Love and Battle in a Glass
Freya, the Norse goddess of love, beauty, and war, inspires this exquisite Strawberry Hibiscus mead—a drink as bold and enchanting as the deity herself. With over 20 gallons of pure strawberry juice in every batch, it delivers a lush, fruit-forward sweetness, reminiscent of Freya’s legendary allure. The deep floral tang of hibiscus follows, weaving an intoxicating complexity, much like the goddess’s mastery of seiðr magic. A tart, tannic finish evokes the intensity of battle and the mystery of Fólkvangr, the realm she rules over.
Orange blossom honey binds it all together, offering soft citrus notes and a lingering golden sweetness, a tribute to Freya’s association with prosperity and sensual pleasures. Every sip is a celebration of her dual nature—fierce yet graceful, indulgent yet commanding. Raise your glass and drink in the essence of a goddess—one worthy of love, war, and legends.
Who was Freya?
Freya, also known as Freyja, was one of the most revered goddesses in Norse mythology. She was associated with love, beauty, fertility, war, and magic. A member of the Vanir gods, she was the daughter of Njörðr, the sea god, and the sister of Freyr.
Freya was known for her chariot pulled by two cats and her boar, Hildisvíni. She possessed the famous Brísingamen necklace, which was stolen by Loki and later recovered by Heimdall. She ruled over Fólkvangr, a heavenly field where she received half of the warriors who died in battle, while the other half went to Odin’s Valhalla.
Freya was also credited with introducing seiðr, a form of Norse magic used for divination and influencing fate. She had many names, including Gefn, Hörn, Mardöll, Sýr, and Valfreyja.
