A Bold and Untamed Mead
Inspired by the legendary wolf of Norse mythology, this Aronia Berry mead is as powerful and untamed as Fenrir himself. Made with deep, rich aronia berries and smooth Alfalfa honey, it delivers a bold yet balanced sweetness, tempered by a tangy bite that lingers like a prophecy of fate. Unlike Tyr, its cranberry counterpart, Fenrir’s Bite glides down effortlessly—smooth and commanding, yet never losing its fierce character.
Notes of dark cherry emerge from the depths, their richness intertwining with the honey’s soft floral sweetness, just as Fenrir’s strength is bound by destiny. Each sip carries the weight of legend—a force of nature, unyielding and unforgettable. This is a mead for those who embrace power and revel in complexity, a tribute to the beast that even the gods feared.
Who was Fenrir?
Fenrir, also known as Fenrisúlfr, is a monstrous wolf in Norse mythology. He is the son of Loki and the giantess Angrboða, making him the sibling of Jörmungandr (the world serpent) and Hel (ruler of the underworld).
The gods feared Fenrir’s immense strength and the chaos he was destined to bring, so they attempted to bind him. After breaking free from their first two attempts, they tricked him into wearing Gleipnir, a magical chain forged from impossible elements like the sound of a cat’s footsteps and the breath of a fish. As a result, Fenrir bit off the hand of Týr, the god of war, in retaliation.
During Ragnarök, Fenrir will break free and devour Odin, the chief god. However, Odin’s son Víðarr will avenge his father by slaying the wolf. Fenrir is often depicted as a symbol of destruction and fate, embodying the inevitable doom that awaits the gods.
